@GirlontheProwl here, do you ever look back on a moment and replay something horrible that’s happened to you over and over? Or how about imagining what you would have/should have done in the moment, but didn’t? Yeah…me too. Here’s an incident that occurred a couple of months ago—I should probably warn you that this incident was rather repulsive—and it still sometimes haunts my thoughts in the early hours of the morning. As it were, this particular day seemed unusually long. I had just finished my last class of the day and was on a mission to get home as fast as possible before my legs gave out because my brain had finally decided to stop functioning.
Anyway, as I waited for my bus on this warm evening in June, I noticed what I could only assume to be a recently married couple because they were smitten with each other—and when I say smitten I mean like hands all over the place! Okay, so maybe that’s an exaggeration, but they were making googly eyes at each other. To be quite honest, I didn’t really pay that much attention to them till we were on the bus, and let me just tell you, this bus is always packed—you’d be lucky to even find a seat! Luckily for me…or at least I thought I was lucky, I managed to snag a seat on the bus next to my best friend and you know how girls are, we talked and we gossiped about her latest lover (she’s so going to kill me when she reads this)…anyway, we were sitting down and the couple from before were directly in front of us. And in my head my only thoughts were “please don’t be like the other couple from this morning, I really don’t want to see you slide your hand down her back side”…if only I had known that would be the least of my worries.
As we waited for the bus to depart, I got increasingly annoyed by the couple’s constant chatter and I just really wanted off that bus (I was sleep deprived, don’t judge me!)…not to mention that I was suffocating by the stench of B.O. coming from somewhere in the bus. So naturally, I was annoyed and agitated. But if memory serves me right, I looked over to my friend to see how she was fairing only to find her staring directly at a patch of hair that the girl in front of us had forgotten to shave… not that there is anything wrong with that, I mean it’s happens to the best of us…right? But it gave us both a good chuckle…or a laugh…okay it was a full fit of hysteria, but in my defense I was sleep deprived!
What happened next, however, and you may or may not consider this karma for laughing, is something I didn’t really see coming… I don’t know which one did it, I feel like it was the girl, but perhaps it was the guy…who knows, but it happened. In what seemed like slow motion, but was most likely mere seconds, globs of thick spit hit me in the face. Above my eyebrow, near my lip, you name it…some even landed on my hand! In that instant, I didn’t know whether to yell, kick, scream, or gag. All I know is if I was in the right state of mind (like I am now) I probably would have given this person a piece of my mind! But at the time I didn’t care who did it, the only thing on my mind was “Holy f’n shit, are you f’n kidding me?! I’m gonna kill somebody”(not literally of course)…and if you haven’t guessed by now, SOMEONE SNEEZED ON ME! What in the world would prompt you to sneeze without covering your mouth?! (Someone please explain this to me)…I was now covered in someone else’s saliva, quite possibly snot and I, never in my life, had wished more that I carried wet wipes around with me. Needless to say, as my level of disgust increased so did my level of profanity…because honestly who does that?! Like WTF?!
Don’t forget to share your WTF moments in the comments section down below!

It’s a well-written and gross/funny story. You know, I ride the subway all the time in my city, and I’ve never had anything like that happen to me. Maybe buses attract a unique clientele.

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ve had a lot of weird things happen to me on that bus, but that was the icing on the cake. So I sincerely hope nothing like this ever happens to you…although if it does I would love to here about it! 🙂
